Design
Good design starts with the block and the life you want on it. Whether Graeme designs your home himself or we build from the plans of your chosen architect or designer, we look at how the sun moves across the site, where the views sit, where the slope falls and how you like to spend a day at home, then shape a plan around all of it.
Graeme is both a licensed builder and a building designer, and has been designing and building homes since 1993. He is a member of the Building Designers Association Australia, and his work has been recognised with HIA, Master Builders Association and Building Designers Association Australia awards. Because he designs and builds, your ideas are tested against real budgets and real construction as they take shape, not months later when it is expensive to change. When we work with your architect or designer, that same building knowledge helps bring their vision to life with care, accuracy and respect for the original design.
Then it is the details that make it feel finished. Working alongside our Interior Designer, Carina, cabinetry, lighting, kitchens, bathrooms and finishes are chosen together so the home reads as one considered space. The goal is simple: a home that still feels right in twenty years, and feels like no one else's.
Construct
Building is where the plan becomes real, and it is the part most people worry about. With Bakker Homes, the people who design or refine your home are the people who build it, so nothing gets lost in translation and there is one point of accountability from start to finish. When the design comes from your own architect or designer, we work closely with them so their intent is carried through on site.
More than thirty years on this coast means very few surprises, and a steady hand when a site throws one up.

If you're working with your own architect or designer, we review their plans with a builder's eye, testing them against budget and buildability early, while changes are still easy.
We also guide you through planning requirements, approvals and the documentation needed before construction begins.

Once the design is finalised, Carina helps you select the finishes, fixtures and interior details that bring the home together, including materials, colours, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, bathrooms, kitchens and overall styling direction.
